Sandpiper Retreat is an exterior deck renovation that brought new life to this waterfront home in Gulf Breeze. With the house sitting right on the water, the outdoor living space is a huge part of how the property is enjoyed—so when the original deck, stairs, and railing system started showing their age, it was time for a full rebuild focused on durability, safety, and a fresh coastal look.

Our team removed and replaced all of the decking, rebuilding the surface, stair runs, and transitions to create a solid, consistent structure from top to bottom. We finished the new deck with Deckorators® Voyage decking, a high-performance mineral-based composite made for harsh environments like the Gulf Coast. Voyage stands up to sun, moisture, and salt air without rotting or splintering, which makes it an ideal choice for a home this close to the water.

To give the deck a custom feel, we used three different Voyage board colors to create a design that feels intentional and elevated rather than flat or one-note. The multi-tone layout adds depth and visual interest while still keeping a clean, modern coastal vibe that fits the home and the setting.

For the railing, we installed Deckorators Black Aluminum Railing around the deck and down the stairs. The black finish provides a sharp contrast to the decking colors, keeps sightlines open toward the water, and delivers a strong, low-maintenance safety barrier that will hold up for years.
